New challenges for 5G

The “most significant cybersecurity focus in 2021” will be 5G and edge computing, say the team at RTInsights. As 2020 brought about an increased need for remote working, the emphasis was on edge computing to bring data storage closer to its users.

In tandem, 5G was making this data available more quickly – but experts warn that hackers could use these new networks to plan larger scale attacks. With increases in bandwidth come new threats, warns the National Defense Authorization.
